Peace of mind

Our Health Guarantee

Healthy puppies, honest terms, and a written guarantee in plain English.

Every puppy we place comes with a written health guarantee. We want you to feel confident bringing one of our puppies home, so here is exactly what we cover, what we ask of you, and how it works. We have kept this in plain language on purpose.

Your puppy goes home healthy

Each puppy leaves us up to date on its age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming, and is examined by our veterinarian before travel. Your puppy comes with a vet health certificate confirming it was healthy at the time it left our care.

Your first vet visit

To keep this guarantee valid, please have your puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within [VET EXAM WINDOW — e.g. 72 hours / 3 business days] of pickup or delivery. This first visit protects both of us. It confirms your puppy arrived healthy and gives you a relationship with a vet from day one.

What we guarantee

We guarantee your puppy against life-threatening congenital or hereditary defects for a period of [COVERAGE PERIOD — e.g. 1 year] from the date you take the puppy home. If a licensed veterinarian diagnoses such a defect within that period, and it is confirmed by veterinary documentation, we will provide a replacement puppy of comparable value as soon as one becomes available. The buyer is responsible for shipping costs on a replacement puppy.

We require written veterinary documentation for any claim under this guarantee. [BREEDER — adjust the coverage period and any specific terms to match what you actually offer.]

What this guarantee does not cover

So there are no surprises, this guarantee does not cover:

  • Minor or cosmetic faults that do not affect the dog’s health or quality of life.
  • Common, treatable conditions such as intestinal parasites (including coccidia and giardia), kennel cough, or hypoglycemia. These come up with puppies and are normally easy to treat.
  • Anything caused by injury, accident, neglect, poor diet, or a lack of proper veterinary care after the puppy leaves us.

What we ask of you

Keeping your puppy healthy is a partnership. To hold up your side, we ask that you:

  • Keep your puppy current on vaccinations and routine veterinary care.
  • Feed a quality diet appropriate for its age and size.
  • Do not expose an under-vaccinated puppy to places or dogs where it could pick up disease before its shots are complete.

Reserving a puppy

A non-refundable deposit of [DEPOSIT AMOUNT — replace] reserves your puppy and takes it off the available list. The deposit goes toward the total price. It is non-refundable because once you reserve a puppy, we stop offering it to other families.

Optional: pet-home terms

[OPTIONAL — if you place puppies on a pet/spay-neuter agreement, describe those terms here. If you do not use this, you can delete this section.]

This page is a plain-language summary of our health guarantee. Your signed sales agreement is the full and binding document. [BREEDER — have your final guarantee reviewed and make sure it matches your sales contract.]
